After a long flight from New York, we landed at Charles de Gualle International airport in Paris and our trip began! After a two hour bus ride, which included views of the Eiffel Tower and the Seine River, we finally arrived in beautiful Rouen. Even though the sky was cloudy, the city still looked stunning under the light veil of rain. As we walked through the cobblestone streets to our hotel, the famous Rouen Cathedral towered behind us. After a quick turn around at the hotel, we made our way to our first practice in France. One hard yet rewarding practice later, we got the chance to try our first French crepes at a local crêperie (which were amazing).
The next morning, we were able to sleep in and enjoy the delicious hotel breakfast. We can confirm that France does indeed having amazing food. After our meal, we headed out for another two hours of practice and even got the chance to be filmed by a local French TV crew. Our last adventure of the day was in town, when we got the chance to walk around the city for the afternoon. Lunch was again delicious, as we all enjoyed fresh paninis from a local stand. We walked through the ancient streets, saw the sight where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake, and snacked on macaroons while shopping. The day concluded with our second trip to another local crêperie, leaving us excited and ready for the rest of the week!
