“I don’t believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.” -Ken Venturi
This morning, we had breakfast at the hotel prior to our first unofficial practice for the day. Our first practice was on the competition rink, and we focused on our short program. Our fast-paced practice went well, and it was cool to have a section of the stands filled with young kids from a local elementary school.
Following practice, we had the treat of going to the 24th best restaurant in Toronto, Mandarin. While it was hard not to stuff ourselves too much, we definitely enjoyed the huge buffet. We really enjoyed the fried rice and spicy chicken. We would 10/10 recommend the restaurant. Due to the busy bus schedule, we walked the mile back to the rink for our second practice. At this practice, we worked on our long program. It felt great to do a solid and clean runthrough. Our coach was really happy with the practice.
We then went back to the hotel for dinner and the draw. At the draw, we walked in with the Skyliners and watched as the other teams drew their short program starting order. While we ended up being the last to draw, we are pleased to be skating 14th out of the 19 teams tomorrow night. We are extremely prepared and amped to show our programs one last time for the world.
LEX DO IT!
GO TEAM USA!
