Our first day in Rouen was very unexpected to say the least. We were originally supposed to leave for Paris on Monday afternoon, but because of the tricky weather our flight was preponed!
We got a call from our team captain at 12 pm Sunday afternoon telling us we were leaving for France in 5 hours because of the upcoming storm! Everyone was very anxious yet thrilled at the same time. We all put our things together frantically and headed to John F. Kennedy Airport for our flight.
We got to the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport at 8:30 am local time, and immediately got on a bus to Rouen. After arriving, we were able to settle into the hotel, walk through the town, and even visit the competition rink! Tomorrow we have our first practices here in Rouen, and we can’t wait to work hard the next couple of days in preparation for the competition!
