We have finally reached competition day! Short program day was full of excitement and sass building up to our Bond Girls performance. We skated 4th out of 16, so our official practice was on the earlier side (although after the juniors, so not too early). Our skate was calm and confident, and we executed each element according to plan. Our goal for the competition was to amp up the facial expression and create sharper movements throughout.
After some naps and rainy walks around town, we put on some smoky eyeshadow and prepared to attack our short program. We returned to the rink to find it full of spectators wearing an assortment of country colors, complete with face paint, flags, and cheers. We warmed up next to Fusion from Spain and loved their beats. Finally, it was our turn to transform into eloquent, sophisticated Bond girls. We achieved a season’s best score of 62.10, which landed us in 4th place.
Tonight we skate 16th (last), and will be taking the ice around 10:55 here (4:55 EST). Check out the live feed! The whole event is going to be something to see. GO USA!
