After a three-hour practice, two planes, and a two-hour bus ride, we finally arrived. Our day started off with an awesome late morning practice –starting at 9 am feels very different than starting at 4 am! After an easy trip through security and dinner in the airport, we boarded an almost empty plane. Everyone had room to sprawl out in their own rows and get some much needed sleep.
Unfortunately, our layover in London was very short and we were left sprinting to the gate with minutes until the gate closed. Once we arrived in Glasgow, we crossed our fingers and headed to baggage claim, hoping and praying that our luggage (and skates and dresses) had all arrived – and it had! We headed out, hopped on our bus, and adjusted to the weird feeling of driving on the left side of the road. We grabbed some sandwiches at a little gas station and settled into our well-lit bus with instructions to stay awake. We have to adjust to the time difference somehow! We gathered around to play some games, tell stories, and laugh to pass the time. And then our bus driver started serenading us over the bus sound system!
