Tuesday & Wednesday
The thrill and excitement for the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships in Boston has been building up all week! Filled with great anticipating we are more than ready to experience the opportunity to compete at Worlds. Traveling from Oxford, Ohio, our team is thrilled to represent USA 2.
On Tuesday afternoon we arrived at our hotel in downtown Boston excited for the week to begin. One of the first things we did was go to our team meeting with the Haydenettes. Being able to see all of my old teammates was a great way to start off a memorable week!
We woke up bright an early on Wednesday to nice meal at out hotel before we headed over for practice at the Walter Brown Arena. Although it was our first practice after traveling we had a very strong practice completing sections of our short program followed by a short program run through. As a team we worked well together sinking into our knees and staying calm.
In between our practices, we had time to eat at the Boston University dinning hall and enjoy some downtime back at the hotel. With such a strict schedule we were back at the rink shortly after, but this time we would be skating at the competition rink.
We began our night practice focusing on our Long program. We left the ice after a great practice making our coaches very pleased. We topped off our long day by eating dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. I am so happy and proud to be here to experience this week with my best friends.
Love and Honor,
Thursday was probably one of our longest days here in Boston. The day was filled with two practices.
One of the best parts of the day for me, and most of my teammates was when we saw our parents and friends in the stand after practice. Attending school at Miami is amazing, but the one downfall is that I am far away from home. Having the opportunity to see everyone I love while we are here in Boston is so comforting. We also find it really enjoyable to look up and find them in the stand when we are skating!
After two good practices we headed to the draw, which was the main event for the night! All of the teams and fans came to our hotel to experience the festivities. A highlight of the night was watching each teams video that they had created. Being able to see the teams unique personalities and dynamic was not only very cool, but interesting.
For the draw we drew sixth for our skating order. We are all so excited and ready to show Boston how hard we have been working this whole season.
Love and Honor,
