Lexettes’ third day at the 2016 JWCC started off calmly. After breakfast, we did homework and rested in our rooms until noon. For lunch, we went back to the D & G pizzeria, where we ate dinner the first day. Again, we enjoyed a delicious meal. When we came back to the hotel, we got ready for our official practice, which was scheduled to be in the afternoon. Every team had a 20 minute ice session at the competition rink, and the technical panel was present and taking notes on each teams’ elements. We skated two strong run-throughs and sections during our practice. It was physically challenging, but overall we are very pleased with how we executed our elements. After our practice, we completed an anti-doping quiz as a team. It is important as athletes to understand doping and drug policies. After the online quiz, we did video review at the hotel. Tonight was the short program draw, and we drew 14th, which means we are skating fourth out of five teams in the second to last group. After the draw we had dinner, and a quick team meeting to go over our schedule for tomorrow. The Lexettes feel very confident going into the short program. Our goal is to have a strong, clean skate. We have been working very hard on our short program all season, and we want to showcase all of our efforts in this performance. We wish the other countries best of luck tomorrow, and GO USA!!
