We began our exciting trip by meeting the Haydenettes on Tuesday night to take off for Rouen, France! After a long flight, we took a bus from Paris to Rouen to go straight to a practice. Even though we were very very sleepy, we had a great practice and even did two long run throughs! We saw our team leader, Rick Perez, and also met our Team Doctor. We had a chanceWednesday night to walk around the beautiful town of Rouen for a short while, and then had dinner with the Haydenettes before heading to bed nice and early.
We woke up the next morning for a half hour practice on the competition rink and then had a couple of hours to go back into town. There, we had lots of time to get a French Lunch, eat lots of croissants and macaroons, and do some shopping. It was so nice to get this time to experience beautiful Rouen. After this, we came back and got ready for the athletes parade through Rouen. For many of the Lexettes, this was a completely new experience. Hearing the USA chants throughout the streets was amazing, and getting to see our friends from other countries was too. At the end of the parade there was the draw. We are skating 5th tomorrow for the short program. We’re extremely excited to perform our programs here in France, well keep you updated!
