Greetings from Croatia!
It seems like traveling is all we do these days! After a seven-hour flight to Munich, Germany, a quick breakfast during our layover, and a short one-hour flight to the tiny Zagreb airport, we made it! We had our favorite kebabs from a local shop right in between the Panorama Hotel and the Dom Sportova arena, followed by a little bit of rest time before our very first practice in Zagreb. Although it was late at night after an exhausting day of travel, we were able to have a strong practice and get used to our new skating home for the week.
Finally able to get a good night’s sleep in a bed, our second day opened with our first hotel meal; we are excited to share this breakfast with the 19 other teams staying here later in the week. Following breakfast, we had an hour and a half long practice to run through our programs before getting the chance to meet up with our team leaders and doctor for a second practice after lunch. Both sessions were productive, giving us a chance to solidify our elements and get feedback from our officials. We had a fun dinner after practice before unwinding for the night.
We’ve been working hard since the beginning of August to prepare and perfect our programs, and we are so excited that we get to finish off our journey together as a team here at the Junior World Challenge Cup!
