History:
 The Catamount Blades are in their fourth season as an open collegiate synchronized skating team and have continued to grow in numbers and strength each year. The 2010 season also marks coach Marie Shanks’ fourth season as a synchronized skating coach, although her figure skating coaching experience dates back several more years. In the 2009-2010 season they competed in three competitions and held an end of the season show. We placed 9th at the Eastern Sectional Championships in Lowell, MA, and placed 5th at the Boston University Challenge Cup in 2010. The University of Vermont is an ideal location for students, in the quaint city of Burlington, Vermont and home to one of the nation’s leading hockey and basketball teams it draws all levels of athletes. The team gives figure skaters an opportunity to continue their skill development in a fun environment while meeting students with similar interests. We attend various competitions around New England, and practice twice a week, offering a challenging yet enjoyable experience.
