Alice Tarantin began skating at the Ice Club of Baltimore when she was 7 years old. A few years later, she joined her first synchro team and competed at the ISI level for two years before switching to USFS. Alice skated a year on the Metroliners, a team based in Bowie, Maryland, before beginning her four year career as a member of the Chesapeake Sailors. During her final year, the Sailors made it to nationals and became the first Chesapeake team to do so.
Alice is a gold medalist in Moves in the Field and is currently working on her silver ice dances. Previously, she worked at her local ice rink teaching and assisting coaches in the Learn-2-Skate program. This year, Alice is a freshman at University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in business. She commutes every Sunday up to Abingdon, Maryland, to skate on the Chesapeake Captains, a first year collegiate team.
Grace Leonard is 16 years old and is a senior at Lower Merion high school in Ardmore, Pennsylvania (just outside Philadelphia). She started synchro in 2008 at the Wissahickon Skating Club on Philadelphia Symmetry’s pre-juvenile team. In 2010, she came to Team Delaware and has skated on their intermediate team for the past three years. Last year, Grace was also a member of the Novice team. This season she will be competing in both the Intermediate and Junior divisions.
Grace is currently working on her senior MIF, pre-gold dances and intermediate freestyle. Outside of skating she plays Ultimate Frisbee for her high school and this year they were the state champions.
